You must be 18-20 years old to receive a course certificate that is required before applying for an Illinois Drivers License.
By taking this 6-hour, Illinois Secretary of State certified and approved, Adult Driver Education course. You can stop and start the course as often as you’d like, just logout and log back in to resume where you left off, within 30 days of starting the course.
At the end of the course there is a final exam test that requires a grade of 75% or higher and you may have two attempts to pass this test with the option to review the course materials in-between attempts.
After passing the test we will e-mail your results to the Secretary of State Jesse White’s office. Next, expect an e-mail in 2-3 business days from ilsos.net. Print this out for your trip to the Secretary of State. Now you are eligible to take your State of Illinois driving road test.
You will be emailed an official certificate of completion from the secretary of States office in 2-3 business days. It will have a barcode on it.
It is important to make sure your email address and all other information are correct.

Illinois Adult Drivers Ed
This online Illinois Adult Drivers Ed course is approved for adults ages 18-20 who need to obtain an Illinois driver’s license and have not previously held a driver’s license in any other state or completed a classroom driver education course. Certificates will only be issued to those students who complete the course and are between the ages of 18 and 20 years old.
The course contains videos, interactive games and defensive driving safety simulations so that you can enjoy and be engaged while you learn. At the conclusion of each module you will be prompted to take a quiz. Upon passing the quiz you will move to the next module. At the conclusion of the course you will take a final exam. You must pass with a score of 75%. Upon passing our course, you will be able to download a certificate of completion which you must present to the Illinois SOS in order to apply for your first Illinois Driver’s License.
